STEVE CHAINEL
I am a cyclo-cross racer for the Cross Team Chazal-Canyon team. I have been competing in cycling since I was 6 years old. I am the father of two children and, since I retired from professional road racing, I have worked as a consultant for Eurosport. I live in the Vosges region of France, and am a fervent supporter of all sports!
I practice cyclo-cross, road cycling and also mountain biking. Since childhood, I have had a pleasurable relationship to training, especially on all types of bikes. There is almost no day that I do not ride my bike either for training or to get around.
I’ve practiced sport since I was young, encouraged by my parents, to do the best that I could. I have always needed to let off steam, to sweat, to feel my muscles work, and to compete against opponents. I love that aspect! It was also an opportunity to channel my excess energy.
It’s such a pleasure since I started riding in G4. Indeed, cycling is a sport where comfort is paramount especially on the saddle which is the only point of support along with the hands. In the Vosges, when the weather is terrible, I need to have quality clothes so as not to feel the cold, to be at ease on the bike. Optimal comfort is obviously a huge advantage of high-end kit, plus its fantastic cut and design.
Being a brand ambassador for G4 gives me an opportunity to promote it. I am both proud and very happy to wear the colours of G4. Geoffroy, the founder of this brand, is an old friend. We share the same philosophy. I love the design of the kit. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best!
I really like the Simply Collection. As the name suggests, it’s very comfortable, very straightforward and I use it even when I’m in France because we don’t need long tights. I love all the matching accessories, from the socks to the gloves. More importantly, the product range allows the rider just to concentrate on pedalling.
Steve wears the tailored made custom collections from G4 and completing his bibs with a seamless knee warmers. He has medium size. (181cm et 69kg)
