Davide Villella, a first year professional with Cannondale Pro Cycling, is one of their many prodigiously talented young riders and today he’s 23 years old. Davide hails from Lombardy so we’ve based his birthday cake on a traditional “torta sbrisulona” and turned up the volume by layering it with a complimentary fluffy, light lemon cream.
This time last year Davide was taking part in the Italian national under-23 championships, where he was narrowly beaten into second place on a wicked finishing climb. Current team mate Alberto Bettiol was third. Seeing that finish, it’s no surprise that Davide has recently been gracing a number of King of the Mountains’ jerseys.
