We’re skipping to July and the Tour de France which started in Yorkshire where the crowds were unbelievable, and so was the weather!
The Cannondale bikes had a special paint-job for the Tour, aside from Peter Sagan as Wolfman, the others took their inspiration from animals.
The riders often take shelter from the crowds before the start with a quick trip to the Village du Depart for a coffee, meet and greet with friends, mingling with sponsors or just some time for quiet reflection. I’m wondering whether Ted had 100% maple syrup in his coffee for an extra shot of energy.
G4 enjoyed plenty of exposure during the Tour. Peter was on the podium pretty much from the start, initially holding “Best Young Rider” and, of course, his third consecutive “maillot vert.”
Peter’s universally popular with the fans – big and small.
Here’s another young fan with his grandfather and I see he’s already secured Peter’s signature on his cycling cap – chapeau!
Enough of the fans, what about a few riders?
They had every reason to smile, Peter won his third consecutive green jersey with ease – #PeterThree – and Alessandro De March was adjudged “Most Combattive”.
