Nelli : Graphic jersey test!

I have tested the G4 Graphic jersey in Italy. I did 200km in two days. I also did the 14th stage of the Giro, with the arrival at Zoncolan, a mythical climb of the Giro. I finally understood the importance of having quality materials for such hard stages, that’s why I brought my new bike and my best clothes for these two days. In the mountains the weather is variable, wind, rain, hail, snow at 3000m altitude, so I have chosen a professional equipment. I had in my mind a sentence that my teacher from the university had told me “there is no bad weather, only bad equipment”. The mountains confirmed me this sentence.

I have chosen summer, mid-season and winter clothes, that during the climb I will be able to remove layers if I get hot. In the valley the weather was grey but luckily no rain. I was wearing a summer woman Simply shorts, a summer short sleeves cycling underwear, a summer jersey from Simply Collection, and a Graphic long-sleeves jersey with a windbreaker protection for the downhill. I had a summer cycling leather gloves, because of the temperature changes my hands cool down quickly, and also, I will pass my whole day on my bike, so it is important to have real comfortable cycling gloves to avoid tingle in my fingers. For this autumnal weather without sun, my equipment was perfect. In the valley, I had a little chilly in my legs, but I was telling myself that it will pass with the effort. The aerodynamic sleeves of my long-sleeves jersey prevented me from getting cold in my upper body, and they will not be hampered me on the downhill.

I started the climb, I knew it will take me 1h / 1:30 of climbing, my legs became heavier kilometer after kilometer, so I opened the collar of my Graphic jersey because I had hot, but I still wanted to protect my arms against cold. To fight against the fatigue, I had my energy bars and gels in the pockets of the jersey, well placed not to disturb my climbing, my phone was in the waterproof pocket, very convenient against oxidation with the sweat. My phone is important to make nice pictures of this wonderful landscapes. The sun was shining at the top of the climb, I wrapped my long sleeve jersey and put it in the pocket of my summer jersey, I was afraid of having more weight for the climb, but I did not feel the weight of the jersey on my back, because this Graphic jersey has so light fabrics.

To conclude, for high mountain rides, I’m advising you to prefer professional equipment, to cope with climate changes and to feel comfortable on the road. As far as I’m concerned, my G4 equipment has passed the mountain test successfully, they are excellent quality, really breathable and very comfortable!
