From Austria, Ariel Harangi tested the best G4 cycling jacket for winter called Fever during one of his training sessions and gave us his opinion as an expert in the sport.
Ariel Harangi is an experienced triathlete with a passion for cycling. He has already completed several Ironman races with a best time of 9:40. He is also a ski instructor in the winter and often needs to stretch his legs with a good bike ride.
Cycling jacket, comfortable, practical and light
“I’ve been a triathlete since I was a kid because of my passion for competition and it’s true that when I tested this new jacket, I was pleasantly surprised. I cycle between 5,000 and 8,000 kilometers a year and it’s very important for me to have versatile clothing and that’s the feeling I got with the Fever jacket (…).
It is so light, soft and comfortable that it can finally have several functions even if its first use is cycling. As a triathlete and ski instructor, I quickly realized that I could also wear it in the snow to give my ski lessons and do cross-country skiing.”
For his training, Ariel walked 168 km wearing the Fever jacket through strategic points in Austria.
Departure from a ski and bike pension called Landhaus Lungau in Sankt Michael im Lungau. Afterwards we pass through the town of Sankt Margarethen im Lungau and then through the Thomatal valley.
Ariel then took route 95 towards Gurktaler Alpen, a very quiet road with fir trees and pleasant gradients.
“I was impressed with the comfort and lightness of the Fever jacket throughout the training (…) winter cycling jackets can be uncomfortable to wear, whereas this one allows for real freedom of movement (…) it is very thin and yet it kept me warm the whole way through even though the weather was cloudy and the temperature was one degree in the sun.”
“The comfort was the first thing I noticed and then the practicality of the jacket. The three back pockets are big enough to fit a water bottle, protein bars and I used the small zippered pocket to store my keys and wallet.
It also ticks the safety box. It’s very colorful and the cars spot me well on the road (…) there are a lot of tunnels in Austria and the reflective inserts in the back are also very useful to keep that good visibility on the road.”
The Fever cycling jacket is inspired by the 90s with those trendy pop colors.
Its outer membrane is wind and water-resistant thanks to a water-repellent treatment.
An ultra-stretch fabric placed at the back, hips and underarms provide extreme comfort.
The interior is lined with soft fleece for added comfort and warmth.
It has a zip protection at the waist and neck and a 4.5 cm elastic waistband.
