Cross Team by G4, created by former professional road racer Steve Chainel and his wife Lucie first took part in the 2015-2016 cyclo-cross season. Since its inception, the team has been able to count on the support of Geoffroy Lequatre’s G4 to supply the team with all its clothing requirements, as well as the sponsorship from Chazal. For the 2017-18 season, the support of bike manufacturer Canyon ensures the team’s continuation into its third season. One of the team’s key ambitions is to give French cyclo-crossers an opportunity to live their dream, similar to those riders on Belgium continental cyclo-cross squads.
The team, exclusively devoted to cyclo-cross, participates in various national and international races, including rounds of the French Cup, World Cup, European and World Championships. For the 2017-18 season, three further team-mates joined the Chainels.

The Cross Team collection
The team wears high-end, high performance clothing. Thanks to G4’s savoir-faire, the team has access to the best kit with all the technical advantages for both training and racing. The ochre and orange patterns on black were chosen by designer Geoffroy Lequatre, a former professional cyclist. He wanted to ensure visibility and a clear identity for a unique kit!
During the warm-up, riders wear G4 thermal jackets over their team kit. The team also have Flash and Supreme jackets which are ideal for protecting the riders in difficult weather conditions. The black caps and the orange headbands keep their heads warm when the wind blows cold and the longer-length team nylon socks provide the support and comfort that characterizes all of G4’s equipment. Steve Chainel is delighted with the development of his team, and his team kit.
Cross Team Chazal Canyon has chosen precision and quality equipment for its riders, giving them the optimal conditions to develop this winter. The Chainels, cyclo-cross specialists, are there to help these talented young riders to progress and enjoy their passion.
“All of this is down to money, but the Team finally offers what I would have liked to have had available when I was younger, without any particular pressure. It might be that we don’t achieve one of our goals, but as long as we’ve done our best, no one can ask any more of us and we’ll have no regrets” Steve is reported as saying to Vosges Matin.
